EXPERIENCE

 

Enterprise Applications Architect. Enterprise Architecture, SUPERVALU Inc., Eden Prairie, MN December 2001-Current

  • Assisted in the inception of a company-wide Enterprise Architecture department.  Ongoing promotion of Enterprise Architecture and its benefits to business and IT.  Helped define roles and responsibilities for department and other IT architects.
  • Participated in several IT transition teams for the Albertson’s acquisition. Recommended strategic applications for new enterprise. Helped defined new model for IT services.
  • Developed technology standards for the enterprise.
  • Initiated and participated in IT wide process improvement such as ITIL and Portfolio Management. Also supporting change to due regulatory mandates like SOX, HIPPA and CISP.
  • Worked actively with IT, business, and vendors to evaluate applications, systems, processes, standards and technologies.  Provided feedback and requirements to vendors and project teams.

Lead Analyst. InStore Systems, SUPERVALU Inc., Eden Prairie, MN September 2000 – December 2001

  • Managed the infrastructure for ValuNet, a standards based Extranet for SUPERVALU affiliates. This remotely managed network included over 2000 Windows NT Servers.
  • Participated in cross departmental requirements gathering and analysis to select internet based single sign on and delegated user administration products.
  • Assisted developers with technology advocacy, review, and discussions. Worked with other groups to define guidelines for internet technologies.  Supportability and performance analysis of current projects and procedures.
  • Management responsibilities include interviewing, performance appraisal, mentoring, delegation, and project prioritization.

 

Senior Systems Analyst/Programmer. InStore Systems, SUPERVALU Inc., Eden Prairie, MN October 1998 - September 2000

  • Responsible for the ongoing deployment, administration, documentation, and support for ValuNet.
  • Participated extensively in a cross departmental internet project. Gathered requirements and created development, test, and production environments for a date driven web application. Defined server requirements for current and future usage and technologies.
  • Extensive system integration testing was performed before a well planned release.
  • Helped to integrate NT network with other networks and systems in the enterprise.
  • Fostered relationships with many vendors, including working closely with Microsoft Premier Support to solve problems, identify bugs (Q201003, Q262980), and help improve installation processes (Q219322).

  • Key involvement in the design, development, documentation, and implementation phases of ValuNet infrastructure. During this process a large lab of various technologies was built.
  • Integrated many products and standard based technologies to create the framework for ValuNet.
  • Participated in several enterprise initiatives including disaster recovery exercises, email standard definition, and WAN deployment.
  • Focused exclusively on developing standards based solutions for networking and communications.

 

Programmer/Analyst. InStore Systems, SUPERVALU Inc., Eden Prairie, MN October 1993 - October 1995

  • Assisted in the design, implementation, and support of a 1200 node email and communications network. Integrated networks not originally designed to be combined.
  • Evaluated various types of communications devices and integration into current projects.
  • Documented, migrated, redeployed applications based on abandoned source code.
