11/01/2009 Entry: "Concerts I've listened to, October 2009"

  • 19xx-xx-xx Pink Floyd Blues - 28 performances of Blues. Perhaps all of them?

  • 1984-08-25 New Order "Rock Around The Clock" - 5 track TV appearance, and it sounds like early 80s British TV, bleh.

  • 1985-02-09 Yes Buenos Aires, Argentina Velez Sarfield Stadium - Broadcast from the high point of the pop-era of Yes. Sometimes the mix is off in a soundboard... there's way too much keyboard in this one... and it's kinda annoying. Not a quality performance, but I finally got to hear their cover of Gimme Some Lovin'. And it will never sound the same to me again.

  • 1970-01-18 Pink Floyd Croydon UK Fairfield Halls - Another early 1970 show with muddy muddy soun. But it's got weird songs like The Violet Sequence, Main Theme from More, and Biding my Time, so why wouldn't I want to listen to it.

  • 1986-09-12 GTR Birmingham UK Odeon Theater - Oh yeah, I love the GTR album when it came out, and seeing Hackett and Howe was an awesome experience... then... Now it seems like pretty awful stuff. Too bad I can't find a better recording.

  • 1983-03-03 OMD Glen Cove NY Northstage Theatre - For years I thought that this show was from IL, not LI (as in Long Island). Oh well. Still not great sound... very hissy dispite the fact that this is a master from the broadcast. Argh.

  • 2009-09-14 Pet Shop Boys Chicago IL Chicago Theater - Still the best show I ever saw was PSB on the '91 tour. I would have loved to have seen them on this tour too!

  • 1970-01-23 Pink Floyd Paris Frace Théatre Des Champs-Elysées - Yet another version. I wonder which one is the right one?

  • 1970-10-23 Pink Floyd Santa Monica CA Civic Auditorium - Holy crap! A master! (Mono, but never the less, a master). Perhaps a bit fast at times, but one of the cleanest recordings I've heard from this era. Truly amazing!
