10/07/2004 Entry: "IBM WebSphere Technical Exchange 2004 in San Francisco: Day 4"

Today was pretty good... or at least the day ended well. I went to a great session on migrating to WAS6 from just about any previous version. One of the primary points was that J2EE is starting to stablize and it's possible to make migration easier by exploiting backwards compatability. I will take that to heart.

Did some good walking around this evening in Chinatown and North Beach. Went to Vesuvio for drinks and then to an Italian place for dinner. Finished off the night at the Virgin Megastore. It's pretty mega big. I'll have to go back tomorrow.

Oh, last night on my way to bed I slammed my foot against a table and today it's very purple. Obviously I can walk on it, but it doesn't look good.

Not sure how I'm going to manage another week of travel. I really miss home: wife, child, cats, and shower. Yes, the shower. I'm a complete shower snob ever since we replaced ours... trust me, it's very nice.
